I’ve never been a late-night person. What about you?

For the past week, my husband and I have been decidedly early-night people as jet lag pummeled our spirits, bodies, and souls.

What to do with early-morning wake-up calls, when one’s sleep spirit is on European time?

Write ridiculous and/or pithy blog posts.

Alternately I could be finding a cure for jet lag rather than merely slogging it out…

I accessed Google, the worldwide informational source that has replaced encyclopedias (remember those shelf-fillers?) and found this series of steps:

Jet Lag – Treatment
  1. Plan ahead. By slowly changing the time that you go to sleep and when you wake up in the weeks before your trip, you should have an easier time adjusting to the jet lag. …
  2. Sunlight. …
  3. Bright light therapy. …
  4. Melatonin. …
  5. Sleeping pills. …
  6. Minimize caffeine and alcohol consumption. …
  7. Exercise.

Got a tried-and-true one, Constant Reader? I’d be grateful if you’d share. Not one of the White Rabbit variety, for I fear “one pill makes you larger and one pill makes you small.” I’ve tried cherry juice and multiple yoga sessions, but you can see where that led me…

It’s up to you, Constant Reader, to determine if this post is ridiculous or pithy. Do you think I wrote it early morning or late-night? Maybe midday, while eating a lunch snack or sipping on Guinness. After all, I’m Irish and St. Paddy’s Day approaches.

Alternately, if you can’t decide, tell me your best solution for the rigors of jet lag. Please and thanks.
