I’ve acquired some wholesome – and healthful – habits in my life, some from my mom –
  • push back your cuticles when towel-drying your hands after washing them
  • drink lots of water to flush your system after chemotherapy
  • don’t toss the used tea bogs. Place them under your eyes while you nap to reduce ‘bags’ there
  • bend at the waist as you brush your hair. I do this when I use the hair dryer, too
  • you can manage your man with timely hugs and kisses
  • you don’t have to know everything. You just have to know where to find it (Google)
  • You can celebrate your birthday for a month… today is my birthday, btw!
Other health-related advice came from my PT at the time –
  • stretch your hamstrings before you get out of bed each morning
  • tighten the VMO muscle just above your knees when you climb stairs and keep your quads strong
  • KT or Rock Tape forestalls knee surgery because of its tight-stretched support
  • keep your back intact with front, back, and side leg raises
  • hold a muscle stretch for 15 seconds or more
Ah, the advice of hairdressers –
  • rub some of this product into your hair before using the hairdryer. It coats your hair and helps to retain its beautiful hue
  • never use hot water or a dryer set to hot on your fragile hair
  • this shampoo and conditioner combo will make your hair feel thicker and more healthy
  • use product to boost your fine hair so that you don’t look like you’re wearing a bathing cap when you leave the house…

Let’s not forget the ubiquitous advice of sages – young, old, and far-flung – An apple a day keeps the doctor away.

Every month, we announce a question that members can answer in their IWSG post. These questions may prompt you to share advice, insight, a personal experience or story. Include your answer to the question in your IWSG post or let it inspire your post if you are struggling with something to say.
February 7 question: What turns you off when visiting an author’s website/blog? Answer: sites that don’t keep current and/or have broken links. Tend thy website, author pals!
