It’s easy to understand UP, meaning toward sky and heaven or at the top of the list, but when we awaken in the morning, why do we wake UP?

At a meeting, do you listen UP when a topic comes UP – and never, never cut UP? When should we speak UP? You get written UP as punishment.

Our computers power UP. A secretary has to write UP a report. We call UP our friends.

We fire UP our team, so that the players will rack UP points. Guys tell each other to “Man UP” or to “Suit UP” as a call to action. Some kids get hurt feelings when a team leader choses UP sides, while others are first UP at bat.

We straighten UP a room… do your kids and grandkids pick UP their toys? When kids tear UP a room and/or throw UP, ‘Somebody’ has to clean UP the mess…is it always you?

Plumbers have to be hired to open UP a drain when it’s stopped UP.

And our friends allow us to open UP with our feelings and hearts. What a ‘Pick-Me-UP’ friends are!

One’s schedule can be booked UP, and we get intense, so our friends tell us to lighten UP and loosen UP a little.

We warm UP the coffee and leftovers and clean UP the kitchen, Especially after we fry UP some bacon and its grease splatters everywhere. Do you cook UP some beans? Hurry, drink UP!

We lock UP the house and some guys fix UP old cars.

Friends tell us to “Cheer UP!” We give others a heads UP in warning.

Good comedians crack us UP! Celebrities roast others with a send-UP .

In a democracy, when politicians are UP for office, we are often told to stand UP and be counted, whether we like it or not.

Sit-UPs are great exercise for soldiers, who gear UP for battle. Ranks tighten UP. Step UP to the plate, batter.

People stir UP trouble, line UP for tickets, work UP an appetite, and think UP excuses when they are tripped UP by something or some event.

Some people creep UP on others to scare them.

People in trouble lawyer UP when others dig UP dirt on them and, sometimes, trial witnesses clam UP. We can shore UP a beach – or each other.

In America we idealize pulling oneself UP by one’s own boot- straps, whatever those are. We save UP for a rainy day, and we say that the sky is clouding UP to threaten rain. Then when the sun comes out, it dries UP all the rain for the itsy bitsy spider.

Shopkeepers open UP a store in the morning, then close it UP at night. To be dressed is one thing, but to be dressed UP is special.

Perhaps you are getting mixed UP and wish that my time was UP…

I feel UP a large percent of the time. People get cranky and fed UP, while I actively seek ways to change that frame of thought. I was apparently born with an extra amount of endorphins. I am one of those ebullient people.

My personality bubbles UP.

Jesus spoke of storing UP treasures in heaven and He lifts us UP. There always is an UP side, His plan for our lives on earth, then heaven.
