To write this blog post, I had to take a moment to empty my brain. The modern era of social media, morning and night news on nearly a dozen tv channels, radio, and podcasts ad nauseam has cluttered my head.

It’s an infodemic, I swear!

Technology has wired us to the world and presented a cavalcade of mayhem and chaos on a conveyor belt. At all hours of the day, in every arena a life, especially for those of us who carry a cell phone. Idle time seems no longer an option, there is always busyness to behold. There are no golden moments of silence because there’s near-constant static and/or noise.

When one’s skull is full, it’s amazing we can think at all, let alone without bias or hubris or worse.

As you may know, Constant Reader, I’ve committed to writing a blog post/week. It’s my weekly appointment to write. My devotion has extended across a dozen years. I have many reasons for the slog.

But, like all of us in the modern era, it’s nearly impossible to unplug. Besides 24/7 news, there are Facebook, Instagram, and other sites to muddle amongst. One can read a book or play games on one’s phone. The result is constant clutter and I’m no better than any human at sorting the wheat from the chaff.

It’s an uncommon occurrence to be bored these days. In fact, it almost seems disallowed.

Amidst the clutter, I’m compelled to keep my promise to myself: to generate worthy content to beckon readers to my blog. In the process, I’ve improved my skills by writing and writing and writing. I’ve researched topics and added them to my lore. I’ve learned a thing or two and shared more. I’d like to say I’m able to include myself among the social influencers – if I could only think of a topic for this week’s blog post.

Ideas, please and thanks.
