Paper covers rock covers scissors…
It is a childhood game
On Sunday, God played it, too
And allowed me to take this photoCoastal fog covered moon covered sun
The eclipse scene in southern California
Look with your eye, blink, exclaim,
And run to get your cameraOcean fog reprieve
For glorious opportunityA picture and words… all good
My life as a Miracle, May 2012

Awesome
added note: the blackened spot and the open circle appeared as I wrote the text – magically! Representations of the look of the eclipse that I didn’t achieve on purpose. Eerie, pervasive evidence that charms me and settles me more completely despite the spookiness of it…
I remember when you wrote this! It was right before we came to your house to celebrate our first anniversary. 🙂
yes, I cribbed this from my cowbird story posts, Jess. It’s all right is one copies from oneself, isn’t it 😉
Don’t see shots or glimpses of the porch of heaven like this very often! Some day, we will! Jimbo
likes the ‘we’ + the ‘will’, JImbo. BTW: the event was the early morning eclipse of the sun. Not supposed to look at, Jo says. The fact that the coastal fog rolled in – and just for a moment – Wowzer!
I recently was reminded of a second miracle of timing, an instance of coincidence that occurred when I posted the above photo on Facebook that morning.
One of my friends worked for the Discovery Channel and was surfing the net for a suitable photo of the once-in-a-lifetime event.
And, when she asked me where the photo was taken, I was able to tell her this: “from the backyard of my home, two doors down from where you grew up.”
“Wow,” she said. “Wow! Oh, wow!”
