Tomorrow is the inauguration of a new administration in the USA. We welcome a President and his ethnic-and-female VP. Each of them is dedicated to the American principle of government “of the people, by the people, and for the people.” They have experience and commitment to govern. He is an elder statesman of renown. She’s accomplished, feisty, and funny. A duo dedicated to you and me and thee.
Each of them possesses a code of ethics and a moral compass. They are tried-and-true blue.
“Things are getting better”… “they couldn’t get much worse.” Paul McCarney and John Lennon famously sang in the vaunted blues music call-and-response style.
The current regime will soon cease-and-desist by order of the citizens via vote. We all hope for the best when the prez exits, stage right. We pray he exits, that is. He’s behaving like a tantrumming toddler since he lost the election, grifting a six-figure future income from his ‘base.’
Tomorrow, January 20, 2021, also coincides with the first case of COVID-19 infection in America. On January 20, 2020, a 35-year-old man who returned from China, the epicenter of the disease, on business haplessly brought COVID to our shores. At this point, nearly 1/2 million people have died for the ex-prez’ lie that the virus was all a Democratic hoax. Holy crap!
We welcome hope and health and the pursuit of happiness into our nation, as we are all exhausted after ten months of quarantine and hate that ain’t making America great.
We want our nation to be whole and wholesome again.
