Once upon a time, I aspired to be a Fannie Flagg clone. While I enjoyed the prowess of many authors, hers was to the style I sought to emulate.

I was fortunate to hear her twice at awesome author events. Once I was seated nearby.

I hoped that the proximity would rub off and infuse my humorous writing with her depth of story-telling. I mined my secret brain bitching, as she reportedly did, to create awesome and authentic dialogue.

I’ve written several novels, always striving, and achieving a measure of success with my Faith, Family, Frenzy! series. My characters were satisfyingly drawn critics said. The Midwestern setting achieved the status of a character – yet I’ve found myself most comfortable with the short story form of Erma Bombeck.

Not a bad fallback author status to achieve.

I earned her seal of approval and proudly display it on my author site, https://pjcolando.com
