However, coupled with our enforced homestay, from mid-March to Memorial Day, was a home remodel gone wild. Six feet away, on the other side of our lot line.
It was difficult to remain sane.
COVID Homestay as Camping Redux
Finally, finally, the state and its business are decreed unlocked. My husband and I returned to the carpet store within days and the staff were as happy to see us as we were to enter. The carpet’s still in stock, we still like it above all others, and, best of all, the price is reduced!
Joy! On solstice day, the new carpet will be installed! We are ready for a magic carpet ride…
The Dominos Fell during March
March was a tough month. The reality of COVID-19 began to tighten a noose around the neck of America.
The west coast suffered first: the states of Washington and California, Pacific Rim destinations for people fleeing China. But, the east coast wasn’t affected – yet.
Never Taking Travel for Granted again
One could say that my husband and I were travel addicts. We once chose a second world trip – rather than our ration of one/year – foregoing new carpet at needed in our house. Before our ‘house arrest’ status we’d selected a carpet, obtained a feasible quote, and set to replace the carpet at last. Now we can not achieve our deferred goal.
We are never taking travel for granted again.
